About my photography

My work explores the concept of confluence—of environments, epochs, experiences, and identities. Beginning in landscape photography, my focus was on vast environments that carried atmosphere and weight. Over time, however, I became increasingly interested in developing deeper, sustained relationships with places, and turned my focus to the urban areas where I live.

From that shift emerged the Ambiscape—an approach that blends natural and built environments into a unified visual field in which they coexist in deliberate balance. Rather than opposing states, the work explores natural and built environments as confluent. Over time, the Ambiscape concept has expanded to address confluences across temporal, experiential, and cultural dimensions.

Drawing from landscape traditions, the process is slow and intentional, using color, tone, and compositional structure to convey not only what a place looks like, but what it feels like to inhabit it. Human presence appears increasingly within the work—sometimes observational, sometimes directed, sometimes even self-participatory—to deepen the narrative and psychological dimensions of the image.

Ultimately, my work reflects the confluence of outer and inner experience that arises through sustained engagement with place.
